VGS was founded in 1981 as an architectural sign company. Skilled craftsmen,
dedicated to fabricating quality products, coupled with extraordinary sales
consultants, seasoned project managers and a dedicated installation team
quickly made VGS an industry leader. Its position in the industry has been
strengthened by its reputation for product innovation and the company now holds
over a half dozen significant patents. It continues to work with architects and
sign designers to combine advanced imaging technologies and materials to
produce state-of-the-art sign programs to complement the latest architectural
trends, while insuring compliance with ADA regulations and local codes.
Today, with 140 employees and a 50,000 sq. ft.
plant, VGS is one of the few companies in the industry that has
the manufacturing capacity, project management skills, and financial
strength to readily handle multi-million dollar architectural
sign projects, such as Continental Airlines Global Gateway terminal
at Newark Airport and the new World Trade Center PATH station.
At the same time, the company’s emphasis on innovation, quality
and service have garnered a host of other, prestigious projects
such at MoMA Qns, Radio City Music Hall, Severance Hall, the Jewish
Museum, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer
Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital.
While the company prides itself on these prestigious
projects, it has also geared itself to serving the needs of corporate,
healthcare, educational and cultural institutions. Combining its
custom capabilities with a broad array of “system signage”,
VGS can tailor a sign program to complement the decor and budget
of virtually any facility.
